Yoga

yoga /ˈyōgə/ : to unite the spirit and physical body and assist us to become aware of, and connect with, our divine nature.

After having a strong yoga practice for a decade, I finally felt the pull to become a yoga teacher in 2020 and

earned my RYT200 certification through Lana Reed’s Wild Thing School of Yoga in San Antonio, TX, and completed my 300 hour with Meghan Currie in Bali during the fall of 2022, earning my 500RYT.

Yoga saved my life, quite literally. After a lifetime of anxiety, eating disorders, a terrible relationship with my Self and body, I was reluctantly dragged into a yoga class by a friend. Immediately falling in love with the physical challenge, I began a consistent home practice as a compliment to my workout routine. Like many others who venture into yoga for exercise, I was quickly emotionally cracked open and realized the depth of connection yoga brought into my life. Asana allowed me to appreciate what my body was capable regardless of external appearances for the first time in my life, and I finally was able to begin the journey of healing I had been longing for since I was a child.

While diving into the depths of my practice during the great quarantine of 2020, I had the realization that being a yoga teacher could reach beyond calling cues in a sequence and instead, by sharing my own insights and experiences, potentially provoke a similar awakening in students. This revelation caused a monumental pull in my heart to do yoga teacher training, and there was no ignoring it. Just a few short days later I was registered and days after that, I had my books, props, and new yoga garb ready for training.

You know that feeling when you just *know* something is going to be life-changing? That’s how I felt from the moment I decided ‘yes’, and that’s exactly what happened. As a yoga teacher, I am passionate about teaching each and every body, and empowering students to explore, and maybe push, the edges of their practice both on and off the mat.

My Yoga Philosophy

Asana is prayer, each sequence a physical expression that embodies the energy of intention. Every muscle tremble and drop of sweat during a practice is an offering to the Divine, one that carries our deepest desires anchored within our true heart. As our practice grows and develops, so does the connection with our mind, body, soul, and inner divinity. Every time we step on the mat, we weave ourselves deeper into the fabric of creation. When we learn to use yoga as a tool to release, manifest, invite growth, work through obstacles, and everything in between, we begin to communicate with our higher selves and weave our highest destiny.
